Herbal Medicine
Herbal medicine, herbology, and herbalism are common terms describing the use of naturally occurring substances to treat deceases. The existence of this medical practice went back thousands of years ever since human started hunting and gathering. Thing like plants, minerals, and animal parts were used to correct anything unbalance conditions to emergency situations, such as bleeding, high fever and infections. Yet, there were many cases of injuries due to misused herbal medicine. This is happen mostly because there were little regulations. Herbal medicine undergone years of refining in order to standardized herb processing technique and formulations.
Today, Herbal medicine is only legally practiced by board certified herbalist through NCCAOM. The state of Florida now requires that licensed Acupuncturist be board certified herbalist to practice herbal medicine.
